In the wake of the war, investigator Takashiro Shuugo arrives in Zushi to examine the unexplained disappearance of a young woman from a prominent family. At the Kouzuki estate he encounters Kazuna, whose likeness to his former lover Yura is impossible to ignore, and she urgently asks for his help in locating her vanished twin sister. Her father Keiichirou offers only a grim denial that the missing girl could still be alive. As conflicting recollections surface, the quiet town of Ueno begins to reveal its hidden tensions.
