In episode three, Akitoshi grows suspicious of the unfamiliar girl who has suddenly appeared at his school, since everyone else seems to recognize her without question. Determined to uncover the truth behind the recent attacks, he trails her through the grounds until a cry draws him toward the material yard. There he finds Mikage in peril from the fluctuating monsters known as Yuragi, only for the skilled fighter Ai to arrive and swiftly dispatch the threat, leaving him to wonder whether she is an ally or an enemy.
